How to Check Your Demerit Points

You can check if you have accumulated demerit points on your traffic history by using the free online service through the Queensland Transport website. You will also be able to check the status of your Queensland driver licence, and the class/es and type/s of licence you hold.

The service will show the number of demerit points you have accumulated during the period appropriate to your licence type, based on our records and other information available to us. Your demerit points total may not reflect:

  1. Enforcement actions for going over your demerit point limit (suspensions and good driving behaviour sanctions) yet to be applied to your driver licence
  2. Infringement notices that have not been finalised (for example, you have not paid the fine or you are disputing the infringement) any offences that are being dealt with in court or have recently been heard by a court
  3. Unprocessed fine payments (for example, payments made at a courthouse, using credit cards or BPAY, or sent by mail to Transport and Main Roads) which may take several days to process.
