Our History

Roz began My Driving School in 2006 after having previously worked as a local driving instructor in Brisbane and as a driving examiner for the Department of Queensland Transport. It did not take long for Roz to realise she had a genuine passion for teaching people to drive. After having witnessed numerous students so ill-prepared for their practical tests, Roz gave up her examining j Roz and Graeme ob to start her own driving school. Roz developed the school with three primary principles in mind:

Relaxed learning environment: Driving lessons are so much more productive when friendly instructors make students feel at ease in their learning environment.
Expert and professional instructors: Although all driving instructors are required to be accredited, more extensive instructor training creates better teachers and consequently better trained students.
Fun: While learning to drive is a serious matter, and poorly trained drivers put themselves and others at risk, students and instructors who enjoy the learning process together will achieve better results.

Since 2006 Roz has been joined by family members, Graeme, Tania and Anthony, as well as many others to keep up with demand, thanks to loyal students who continue to refer us to friends and family. But although the school grows in size its primary principles of teaching remain unchanged: fun, friendly and expert instruction - that's why you'll want to make My Driving School your driving school.

Anthony's one of our many young instructors, but don't doubt he certainly knows what he's talking about. Anthony has a great time instructing and, based on the high number of referrals he gets each month, his students obviously enjoy their lessons too!

Czarina has become a real expert in automatic driving instruction and has shown great skills in assisting students who otherwise may be reluctant to learn to drive at all! Czarina has the patience some situations require in this job and she's brought many students through to getting their licence from very shaky beginnings.

Loads of fun - there's really no other way to describe lessons with Jess! Her positive attitude and calm approach to teaching are greatly appreciated by all her students.

Katheena joined My Driving School with over twenty years of manual driving experience and it has been this experience that we have put to great use. Katheena is calm, relaxed and fun. She can communicate with people from all ages and backgrounds and is passionate about teaching good habits and skills that will last a lifetime.

Lloyd

One of our automatic instructors, Lloyd has a laid back personality and a good sense of humour. He is good at his job and approaches students in a calm and supportive manner. These are just some of the many reasons Lloyd gets along with all his students and is well-liked.

Maria has the perfect attitude for dealing with young drivers, being mother to a 17 year old son herself. She is exceedingly friendly, making her students feel immediately at home. Maria loves teaching people how to drive, and her patience is phenomenal. Students who are taught by Maria have an instructor who they are completely comfortable with, someone that they trust.

The driving skills of Mel's students are very important to her and as such she puts effort into planning effective lessons and achieving good outcomes. Very organised and reliable, Mel is a valued member of the My Driving School team.

Simon has experience and maturity beyond his years, and approaches his students with remarkable enthusiasm. He is able to help students through the process of learning to drive in a manual car, making the experience exciting and enjoyable.
